Custom Performance - ATPP

As hard as I try to document the performance classes at shows, I always end up missing entries... none the less, I did the best I could so I wanted to share the photos with you!

Custom Performance is first, starting with the Other Division.

There were no entries for Parade/Harness, so we started with Other Costume, first place went to my Halloween costume contest entry,
Purdy Much Broke
Second place went to Taylor Joplin,

Third place, Jill Aman and her amazing costume

Unfortunately I got distracted in the halter rings and missed the Arabian Costume class, Jill Aman had a couple of amazing set ups!

Next class was Other performance, I was the only entry, so my Indian Relay racing entry placed 1st and won Reserve Champ of Other Performance.

Now onto Custom English, first up, English Pleasure . First place went to Foxy Freddy owned by Jennifer Arsuaga(didn't get a photo), Second went to me with Blue Flame. I both painted the horse and made the tack!

Hunter/Jumper, I took first, Jennifer took second, but I only have a photo of mine.

Other English, Jennifer took first,
I took second,
And Reserve English Champ!
Finally, western! First class was Western Pleasure, but I didn't have an entry and forgot to photograph the other entries. Next class was Trail, I took first!
Other western, I had three entries, I took first..
Third,
And Fourth, with a very last minute entry.
Custom performance call backs...

I can't remember who got Reserve, but I got Champion! I was beyond thrilled!

Hopefully there are some Performance junkies out there that enjoyed this post, I know I always like when other people share performance photos.
Next post will be OF Performance!

All The Pretty Ponies

Whoa, I haven't posted in over a month?! Whoops...
February is always a crazy busy month for me, and as we're drawing near the end of it I wanted to share some photos from a live show I went to yesterday!

Costume made and owned by Jill Aman

"Hermosa" painted by Sue Kern, owned by Taylor Joplin

"Foxy Freddy" owned by Jenny Arsuaga
Normally this is a show Emma comes to but she couldn't make it this year because she had to say goodbye to her pup, he's off to be a guide dog!

Taylor Joplin traveled down from North Carolina for the show, I must say I enjoyed admiring her gorgeous roxy customs!
Owned by Taylor
There were some really nice OF models, both breyer..
Need to add this girl to my collection!

and stones.

There were only a few other performance showers, but they were all great entries!
Other Costume owned by Taylor Joplin
Another gorgeous costume by Jill Aman!

One of my favorite performance entries was my western trail entry, just something about this set up I love!

I was also quite proud of my Custom English horse, I made the tack and painted the horse, it placed well enough to win Reserve English champ!

I adore this Stone YCI chips foal, such a cool guy!
Sorry for the dark picture :(
A GORGEOUS 'Working for Chex' resin, love this guy as a dappled grey.
Razzle-my-Tazzle painted by Mindy Berg, owned by Taylor Joplin

I'm not usually a huge draft person, but these two guys are just stunning.

"Percy" painted by Angelica Nelson, owned by Taylor Joplin
"Charley Horse" painted by Sue Kern(?), owned by Taylor Joplin

Unfortunately I didn't get many Stone photos, but I did get one of this lovely girl! Such a cute mold, I wouldn't mind having one.
And this guy, just wow! So much detail in his paint job, and such a unique custom!

I hate that I didn't get more photos of mini customs, they're my favorite! Here's one of the few photos I did get..

This stunning guy won Overall OF breyer champion! Yet another horse I need to add to my collection.

This was a particularly nice Shelia that won OF breyer stock, not a horse I would expect to win the high title, but she was quite nice!

Next post will be just performance, or, what would y'all like to see more of?

My ponies definitely made me proud, it was a good show!!

New Toys

Okay, well not exactly what most would consider a toy, but it is for me.

Yep, I made a stablemate western saddle set, and got a new custom stablemate!
Meet, "Bad Girls Aint No Good", a custom reining horse to a dappled grey mare, with new mane, tail and head.

She was customized and painted by the ever talented Shana Bobbit, I am always thrilled with the details Shana puts in her work!

And for the saddle, I wasn't even planning on making anything for myself for a while, but one evening I just sat down and it all started to flow, I must say it's my favorite mini saddle I've ever made!
I also recently customized and painted this paint mare, she was intended as a sale piece but I fell in love, whoops.

I tried a lot of new things with this set, a tiny string cinch, made an actual saddle tree, painted details on the breast collar/headstall, and a different style on the seat jockeys and seat.
Also wanted to make it easier to take on and off, so I made the breast collar adjustable, but the D rings slid out with the breast collar, so all you have to do is sticky wax them down instead of adjusting teeny buckles every time you put it on a new horse.
The bridle goes on in the same fashion, it is split behind the ears and sticky waxes down.

Better view of the breast collar, it was a challenge but I love it!

I'm pleased to say that after taking a break I'm really getting back into mini tack making, and I have a lot of new ideas!

Now, back to the work bench to make another tiny creation...
