Hobby Slumps

Sorry for not posting much... School is back for all of us and it stinks! I have also been in a bit of a slump myself, and this blog is supposed to be fun. It isn't fun to take pictures and write blog posts when I don't want to. Hopefully ya'll understand. :)

Anyway, I've received a couple packages the last few weeks that have gradually brought me out of the slump! Now I'm working on show prep for All The Pretty Ponies this weekend and that has helped too. We all go through points where we lose interest, but it has defiantly come back for me!

The first box I received was from Canada! This is the Peter Stone "Lowry Star" who is a LE of 15. I've wanted a Foundation Quarter Horse for a long time and this guy came up for a great price, I paid just under $75 including shipping! Stalking MH$P finally paid off...

He's a VERY nice bay roan that I'll be using in performance this weekend. It will be his first time out and depending on how well he does, he might be my all round horse for a while!

I didn't get any non-tack pictures... But he looks awesome with it on!

I love my booties!! :3 The SMBs are by the one and only Rachel Fail and the bell boots are by Maddy.

The next box I got was from the Model Horse Blab Spooky Swap! This was a secret-santa like thing where you paint one or more stablemates for a partner. My partner was AWESOME and painted me two "Spookaloosas!"

And on my favorite mini mold too!! And in my favorite horse color, appaloosa, with my favorite color, purple!

His spots are ghosts!

I love them so much! They aren't perfectly LSQ or anything but I don't care, they are awesome. I am so gonna show them in the Halloween classes at Haunted Horses Live, it'll be awesome.

My Rivet conga is looking great! I have all the OFs and three customs now. They are a super awesome addition to my collection.

She also included some candy and a pony pouch!

The last package I got was from Becky... But that deserves it's own post, so stay tuned!

Breyerfest Haul: Everything Else

Tt’s time for the final part of my Breyerfest haul... This time it’s gonna be pretty much all the models I bought beside Special Runs and exclusive models.

First this time is Shasta Moon. I got her for $35 NIB at the Clarion. I’m considering her as my new all-round performance horse.

RRS Harvest Moon owned by EVR
Next I bought one of my grails, Appydaze!  I’m very excited to see how she does in halter. Now to find a breed.  -_-

RRS Ever So Clever owned by EVR
Another one I got was Buckaroo, the special run pony from 2013. That was my first year at Breyerfest and I regretted not getting him. He has awesome dapples and was only $20. He’ll also be added to my showstring.

RRS Rhettrospective owned by EVR
One of my best deals was these two weanlings! The black is a OOAK and the Cremmello is a LE of 5. I got them both for $65. I have a ‘no peter stone’ rule because I don’t like how they run their company, but I couldn’t help myself.

RRS Vegas Lights and RRS Pas de Coeval owned by EVR
In the Breyer Marketplace I found Creme Brûlée, the single day stablemate from last year, for $10, so I had to get him!

RRS Right On The Money owned by EVR
I got this little CollectA zebra from Erika or VampireBreyerGal for $5. She has a nice stack of winnings. Her name on her NAN cards is Zaby so I have to keep that.

Maddy and I made a deal on her FleetStreet Max and I picked him up this weekend. He’s my first on the mold and I think I need more. ;-; I forgot to take non-tack photos so enjoy him tacked up...

I also bought two custom blankets from Ride And Shine, they are embroidered with my stable name! :)

Also in the Clarion I found this custom classic for $10. He needed some repairs but I got it done. :) I named him Grumpy. If you know me you know I like fancy, longish show names, but I nicknamed him that and it stuck!

Last but not least is probably my new favorite OF. This is Chanel! I got her for $70 in the Breyer Store. All of the others were gone, and she was the display one stuck on the side of the box. Thankfully a Breyer employee wrapped her up and I was able to buy her! I’m especially excited about her because all the others were at least $100.

RRS Carpe Diem owned by EVR
This horse looks like an artist resin. I mean really.

RRS Carpe Diem owned by EVR

This is totally my new favorite mold! Now I need Banks Vanilla, Bramble, Sugarloaf, and the original... Unfortunently almost all the others on this mold are really expensive. :( But I'm happy with just this one for now. :)

Thanks for reading my little series, hope you enjoyed! There's actually one more horse I haven't shown yet, but he deserves his own post. :)

Stable Growth

This post is a little overdue but... I have been super lucky in being able to trade tack sets to very talented finishwork artists. I recently received the second horse I was expecting and now I shall share them!

The first horse is a Keltic Salinero painted and haired by Dust Art Studios. (Marchella Branderhorst)

In addition to painting him and hairing him Marchella also resculpted his nose to portray the Kladruber breeds very roman profile.

His eyes are goregous!

I love the way she styled his mane, the curls really do him justice!

The next horse is a stock horse mare resculpted to a trotting gelding by Laura Rock Smith, I purchased him early this year and recently sent him to the amazing Long's Custom Studios! (Courtney Long)

I purchased the resculpt because it is the spitting image of one of my favorite horses ever, Chief.

That brand! It's all in the details.

I really love the nice even, collected, working trot, and the happy expression on his face.

Courtney did an absolutely stunning job painting him and I couldn't be happier.

I could take photos of him all day...

I can't wait for my next show, I'm probably going to be trying to show him in every class!

I hope ya'll enjoyed the post, hopefully I'll get back in the swing of things and post a little more!

Show Shopping

MITS 2016 was quite possibly my favorite show ever, I was able to hang out with old friends and make some fabulous new ones! One of my favorite things about live shows is the unique opportunity to buy new models in person instead of the 'order them and cross your fingers' method.

Meet 'Counting On A Miracle' or at least that's his name until I find a better one... I bought Mir on Saturday. He is the 1996 "Mindspring" Morgan Stallion resin by Laura Behning and a run of 10 resins were cast. He is painted by Laura Behning.

This is 'Jumping Jackie Flash' a SM drastic custom on the Jumper mold. I am not entirely sure who painted her but I love the dapple style and she managed to place in her first show with me!

At the end of the show on Sunday I snatched up this -vintage- Lazy H Custom Tack bridle which goes perfectly with my black jumper set!

Maddy gave me this AMAZING saddle stand, it is so perfectly in scale including the tiny nail heads! I can't wait to finish my mini tack room and add this!

MITS also marked the end of my excited wait to see the portrait of Hawk painted by Home Stretch Studios. Hawk is a portrait of a therapy horse I work with who retired last year. He is gorgeous in person and in photos and managed to NAN his first time in the ring!

I also received a SM custom of Lacey, who is also a therapy horse I work with. Both Lacey and Hawk were payment for a tack set.

I also traded some scale caution cones for some amazing Home Stretch Studios rope goods and an polka dot halter for a rope one.

This vintage CM CWP was a gift from my friend Grace, go check her out @enchantedbreyers!

This Drastic CM drafter was painted by Morgan McCoy and is absolutely gorgeous! He was owned by Maddy for a few years and shown but never brought in any ribbons... until I got my putters on him. He was for sale and I inquired but Mad decided to gift him to me... well guess what...

Yeah. He NANed.

Good boy Freddy.

This is Royal Renegade, I have yet to show him but he is beautiful in person and has a rich bay color. He is a CM Hagen Renaker on the Arabian mold.

Hang in there guys we're almost done! This is Royal Magnolia a CM SM on the Morgan Mare mold. She is painted to a sooty buckskin and has BEAUTIFUL shading! She didn't make it into the ring at MITS because I purchased her with a small damage but she is now good as new and ready to show!

I hope everyone enjoyed the haul!

MITS Haul 2016

This year at MITS, I bought/won quite a few horses. Oops! Anyway, i just thought I'd show you what I got as they are very pretty!

The first model I bought was a Willy Remember Me resin customized to a palomino mare by Lisa Sents. She is a one mold run of 40.

RRS Walkin On Sunshine owned by EVR, Willy Remember Me Resin by Lisa Sents

I randomly threw her into the CM/AR Western Games class with a slew of borrowed tack.

RRS Walkin On Sunshine owned by EVR, saddle pad and SMBs by Rachel Fail, saddle and reins by Flying B Saddlery, halter by EVR, egg, spoon, and bell boots by Lazy H Custom Tack.

Her reference card says "Dad riding daughter's pony to show her how to do egg and spoon." The judge thought it was funny, and I think I got sixth (out of 6)...?

Counting on a Miracle owned by Becky McCorkendale (left) and RRS Walkin On Sunshine owned by EVR

Becky bought another resin by the same painter/sculptor, you can defiantly see they are the same style! Becky and I traded halters, Walkin On Sunshine got a polka dot nylon halter and her resin got a rope halter. :)

The next horse I bought was from Maddy! This is Shere Khan, a Braveheart resin painted by Sheryl Leisure. I bought him for $25 with a shattered ear but I was able to fix it. He's good as new now!

Shere Khan owned by EVR, painted and sculpted by Sheryl Leisure

I'm not sure what to show him as yet, probably spotted draft. I also wanna show him in performance, but all that hair is gonna need some really custom tack!

The last horse I actually bought was this little Haegan Reneger CM glaze! He's a little bigger than a micro. I haven't come up with a name for him yet, but he's absolutely gorgeous. Comment if you have any ideas! My only one so far is Cinnabon, but it's not my favorite. This little dude is probably my new favorite in my collection. Just look at those dapples, and his face is so expressive. I just love him!

Unnamed Haegan Renegar custom glazed by ?

Last but not least I got this very nice mini Friesian custom from the show holder, Jackie Moore! (she's totally awesome but the way)

HTC Vive owned by EVR, painted and customized by ?

My mom did the show results last year and did them again this year. It saved Jackie and Cindy (the other show holder) several days of work typing them up. As a thank you, they gave my mom this girl!

She had a bit of an accident on the way home so I had to redo some of her front feathers and the tip of her tail, but I'm positive she's LSQ now. :)

My mom doesn't collect so gave me the model to show. She named her HTC Vive, which is a virtual reality headset my family preordered. We received it right before the show, and all I can say is if you ever have the chance to try it, do it!

Thanks for reading, hopefully you enjoyed seeing my new models!
