Breyerfest Haul: Exclusive Models

Hey ya’ll! Maddy and I are back from Breyerfest and had an awesome time! I didn’t buy as many horses as I normally do and instead bought not as many expensive ones. All of the horses deserve to be shown on the blog as I love them all, so I’ll be breaking my haul into a few parts.

This first part is gonna be the Breyerfest exclusive models and part two will be the other models I got! It’s gonna be a bit long, but stick with because because there’s lots or eye candy!

First things first, the Celebration horse! The real horse was unable to attend Breyerfest due to sickness, but there is a rumor going around saying that they are so upset and embarrassed with the mold they didn’t want to bring him. I don’t think that that is true.

I can see why they would be upset with the model though. He isn’t that bad, but he is really skinny. Overall I think he’s cute.

And I of course had to tack him up, and I chose endurance. I think he looks nice!

RRS Northern Downpour owned by EVR, saddle and breast collar by Flying B Saddlery,
saddle pad by Rachel Fail, halter bridle combo by Maddy Hinnman.
Next up is the first Special Run I bought, Bozeman! The Wyatt mold looks really nice in the blue roan pinto, and I really love his eyes. Maddy went through the SR line for me and got him. I didn't get any non-tack photos of him so enjoy a little jumping photo. I think it's nice besides the rider failing at equitation.

RRS Kangaroo Court owned by EVR, saddle pad and rider by EVR, saddle by
Five Paws Studio, and bridle by Lazy H Custom Tack.

I was able to photoshop out his stand. :)

I also got two Samba Surprises. I pulled two matte black overos but was able to trade one for the dun pinto. The Esprit mold is actually one of my least favorites but I really liked the colors. Now I have a conga of them. Yay.

Here’s the black overo I kept. He is perfect condition but because of the mold I can’t show him in halter.

This is the dun! I like him much better then the black. He has really nice shading. I’m also not sure what to name him yet!

RRS Eat More Chicken or 'Truett' owned by EVR
The first mare I bought was Sheila! The shading is nice and her markings and eyes are great.

RRS Hammerstead owned by EVR
I will be naming her RRS Hammerstead after my mom’s arch nemesis in middle school, who’s full name was Bobbi Jo Hammerstead. The mold is called Bobbi Jo. See what I did there...? ;)

I also got the mare and foal set of Mamacita y Chico! I wasn’t going to get them originally but they really grew on me. I’m glad they did!

RRS A Casual Affair or "Cassie" and RRS Ruffles or "Ruffles" owned by EVR

The last SR I bought was Namib. She was my last priority but I really wanted to keep my conga going. I got her on Sunday when they released all the extra special runs. I really wanted a glossy, and lo and behold…

RRS Degrassi owned by EVR

Glossy!! :D

And alas, my conga is still complete!

My mom surprised me and bought a single day ticket to get me my favorite single day stablemate, Bahia! I really wanted him mainly because he is my favorite horse color and I needed him for my conga as well.

Last but not least is the pop-up tent stablemate, Copacabana. He was only $8 and I really like how purple-y he is.

RRS Pina Colada owned by EVR
And that’s the exclusives I got! Thank you for reading!

One of my favorite parts of Breyerfest was meeting one of our followers! It was in the Clarion and unfortunently we were running super late and couldn't stop and chat. :( If you were that person please contact us as we did say that there was a surprise for people that recognized us!

Well, I finally got to go to Breyerfest!! I had such an amazing time, got a lot of awesome models, met many people I look up to, and made a few friends!

Emma and her mom picked up my mom and I, and we drove the 12 hours to Lexington on Thursday

Emma and her mom made the car look awesome..

Breyerfest money!!

Don't worry, Emma had much more $ than that ;)

Finally, breyerfest!!

Lots of pretty horses!

Both real, and models..

McMatchy Sets!

Today's post is short but sweet!
Throughout my tackmaking journey I've always loved matchy sets, almost anyone who looks at my tack sets can tell.

C. 2015
It is relatively easy to make a matching western set, especially a gaming set.

C. 2016
It is a little harder in the english tack world... fortunately there is a rather simple hack.

Eskadron® sets!

While unacceptable in the traditional ring, (Hunters etc.) I think these smart and eye catching sets would be great in eventing, showjumping, and english games.

Granted this was just my first attempt and there are a few things I'll fix next time, I am very happy with it!

I will surely be using this in my blue eventing and showjumping ensembles in some upcoming shows!

I hope everyone enjoyed the matchyness!

Breyerfest Meetup Information

Hey everyone! Breyerfest is just around the corner! Maddy and I will be attending this year and we can't wait. At this point the stress is real though, as we are finishing up dioramas, commissions, and trying to make some last-minute money.

I feel like now is the time to tell ya'll where you can find us if you'd like to say hi! We'd love to meet some of our fans and get some pictures with you! Personally I love attach faces to my internet friends and other hobbyists, and as readers of this blog you are automatically our friends. :)

Anyway, onto the point!

We will both be at the Instagram meet Friday before the swap meet. This is being hosted by Da Vinci Creations and breyerphoto. It is officially sponsored by Breyer and if you are on Instagram, this is the meet to be at! If you aren't following us already, Maddy is @lazyh.customtack, I am @emmasmodelhorses, and Becky is @flyingbsaddlery.  We should be there when it starts, but will do the Swap Meet at 7:30. Come and see us and all the other amazing people on Instagram!

That is really the only formal meet we will be at. We thought about having our own meet, but since our following is pretty small right now it might not be a good time. Next year maybe? ;)

Maddy and I are both making tee-shirts to make it easier to find us. Maddy is going to have Lazy H Custom Tack shirts all weekend, and I will have a TCAAJ shirt, a Home Stretch Studios shirt, and a shirt with my Instagram handle. :)

I'll also be carrying this backpack all weekend.

Sorry for the crappy photo... :P
So come and see us! Again, we'd love to chat with our readers. I'll also have little prizes to give to people who recognize us. It'll probably be some rope halters and leads, but a lucky person might get a nice little stablemate custom! :)

Becky will be manning the blog for the most part this week. Maddy or I might pop in to do a quick photo post, though. But I know Becky has some cool stuff planned, so look forward to that!

I think I speak for everyone when I say we are excited for Breyerfest! For those showing, good luck! And to everyone, have a safe and fun trip!

Stable Growth

This post is a little overdue but... I have been super lucky in being able to trade tack sets to very talented finishwork artists. I recently received the second horse I was expecting and now I shall share them!

The first horse is a Keltic Salinero painted and haired by Dust Art Studios. (Marchella Branderhorst)

In addition to painting him and hairing him Marchella also resculpted his nose to portray the Kladruber breeds very roman profile.

His eyes are goregous!

I love the way she styled his mane, the curls really do him justice!

The next horse is a stock horse mare resculpted to a trotting gelding by Laura Rock Smith, I purchased him early this year and recently sent him to the amazing Long's Custom Studios! (Courtney Long)

I purchased the resculpt because it is the spitting image of one of my favorite horses ever, Chief.

That brand! It's all in the details.

I really love the nice even, collected, working trot, and the happy expression on his face.

Courtney did an absolutely stunning job painting him and I couldn't be happier.

I could take photos of him all day...

I can't wait for my next show, I'm probably going to be trying to show him in every class!

I hope ya'll enjoyed the post, hopefully I'll get back in the swing of things and post a little more!
