A Small Collection (literally.)

Gosh, it's been literally months since I've blogged. Sorry!!

Anyway, I think one of the most unappreciated scales is Micro Mini. I don't own many but recently added a new one to my collection... so I thought ya'll might want to see them. :)

First is one I think I got at Breyerfest a few years ago. He's a blind bag Mini Whinny who is kind of semi glossy, and I thought that was a cool variation. He might not be actually OF, but I still like him!

At my first MITS I got this guy in the raffle. He has quite a few flaws but they are hard to see without a nice camera lens or magnifying glass!

I was able to get another blind bag mini whinny and pulled this guy, who I found pretty boring. For fun I  made him a small embroidery floss harness. It actually has a few NAN cards, but it's the only one in the class normally! :P

It's pretty crudely glued on, but I think it turned out nice.

My favorite and newest addition is RRS Shotgun Wedding, a Maggie Bennet Windswept painted by Alaina D.

He's really, really nice. I think I would go blind painting this!

I hope you all enjoyed reading and seeing all the photos of my micros! :) I might do a SM custom collection next, stay tuned for more posts!

All The Pretty Ponies

Whoa, I haven't posted in over a month?! Whoops...
February is always a crazy busy month for me, and as we're drawing near the end of it I wanted to share some photos from a live show I went to yesterday!

Costume made and owned by Jill Aman

"Hermosa" painted by Sue Kern, owned by Taylor Joplin

"Foxy Freddy" owned by Jenny Arsuaga
Normally this is a show Emma comes to but she couldn't make it this year because she had to say goodbye to her pup, he's off to be a guide dog!

Taylor Joplin traveled down from North Carolina for the show, I must say I enjoyed admiring her gorgeous roxy customs!
Owned by Taylor
There were some really nice OF models, both breyer..
Need to add this girl to my collection!

and stones.

There were only a few other performance showers, but they were all great entries!
Other Costume owned by Taylor Joplin
Another gorgeous costume by Jill Aman!

One of my favorite performance entries was my western trail entry, just something about this set up I love!

I was also quite proud of my Custom English horse, I made the tack and painted the horse, it placed well enough to win Reserve English champ!

I adore this Stone YCI chips foal, such a cool guy!
Sorry for the dark picture :(
A GORGEOUS 'Working for Chex' resin, love this guy as a dappled grey.
Razzle-my-Tazzle painted by Mindy Berg, owned by Taylor Joplin

I'm not usually a huge draft person, but these two guys are just stunning.

"Percy" painted by Angelica Nelson, owned by Taylor Joplin
"Charley Horse" painted by Sue Kern(?), owned by Taylor Joplin

Unfortunately I didn't get many Stone photos, but I did get one of this lovely girl! Such a cute mold, I wouldn't mind having one.
And this guy, just wow! So much detail in his paint job, and such a unique custom!

I hate that I didn't get more photos of mini customs, they're my favorite! Here's one of the few photos I did get..

This stunning guy won Overall OF breyer champion! Yet another horse I need to add to my collection.

This was a particularly nice Shelia that won OF breyer stock, not a horse I would expect to win the high title, but she was quite nice!

Next post will be just performance, or, what would y'all like to see more of?

My ponies definitely made me proud, it was a good show!!

On The Workbench + I am Also Alive

Emma here! Sorry for the lack of posts from me here. I don't want to repost content from my blog here to keep things fresh as well as the other way around. Keep it fresh, ya know? :)

I have a lot of projects on my workbench right now and thought it might be interesting to share.

First off, my workbench/studio is a craft armoire in my room. It is nice because it pretty much contains my mess. The whiteboard and corkboard are also useful for writing things down or posting reference pictures.

Complete with demon doggo!
I have a couple of customs I'm working on mainly. I always find myself starting models and never finishing them, so I'm gonna try and get these guys done before starting anything more.

First is this striking donkey SM resculpt. He needs new ears and his muscles done, then paint!

I have these two appaloosas almost finished as well.  The one on the left is a resculpt I did. She is now a he and he now has a long mane.

The bay has been sitting around for a long time so I'm gonna try and finish her very soon. I also have a pewter mini almost done. Lowkey procrastinating doing his details. They are so, so small.

I'm slowly going about this appaloosa flash. Probably gonna strip him, though. He just seems... off.

If you follow my facebook page or my blog, you'll have seen these feed bags and supplements! I also made a jar of treats. I made all of the labels in Photoshop myself (which I had way too much fun doing.). I made Maddy a custom one, too!

And that's it! We are all really going to try and post here more, so stay tuned :)

Haunted Horses: Performance

This past weekend Emma and I went to Haunted Horses model horse show, in Orlando FL! I didn't take a bunch of photos, but it was a great show!

In the performance division, first up was Costume, unfortunately I only got a photo of my entry, costume contest gone wrong!

Next was other performance, here is Emma's awesome Hunting entry..

And my Indian relay race set up. So glad I did this one, it was a last minute idea but it paid off!

This is Gary Lanes(?) other western entry, so much gorgeous detail!

Next was English Pleasure, my resin got 2nd..

Emma had a very cool Pleasure entry, it was awesome to see how she creative she was to show Bozeman in almost every class!
Over fences, lower level jumper placed second..
Next class was dressage, unfortunately during judging both of my bits popped out which dropped me to third, but I must say Emmas dressage entry was really awesome!

Last English class was other English, my egg and spoon race placed first!
Emmas Bozeman again, getting second with her awesome cross country set up.
There were other entries in the English I promise! I just failed to photograph them.
My resin Painted Rein ended up winning Reserve Champ in the English Division.

Next was western of course, I was super psyched to get to show my new Purdy horse for the first time!
First class was Western Pleasure, I was able to borrow a pleasure saddle from a dear friend, and my resin placed 2nd with it.
This is the entry I 'lost' to, no shame in that! Everything about this is stunning!

Next class was Western Trail, this was by far my favorite class due to me finally being able to use a new prop that I have been working on off and on for a while now, completely thrilled with how it turned out. Good enough for second!
I didn't get photos of any other Trail entries, so next up was games, my first entry with Cowboy Polo placed 2nd..
And my barrel racing set up placed 3rd.

That darned bell boot!
Last class, Other Western with another one of my favorite set ups, Mounted Shooting!
All those second places were good enough for "Purdy Much Broke to win Western Performance Reserve Champ! I only had him for about a week prior to the show, so I can't wait to come up with even bigger and better ideas for the next show.

Thanks for reading, next up, Halter classes!
