New Toys

Okay, well not exactly what most would consider a toy, but it is for me.

Yep, I made a stablemate western saddle set, and got a new custom stablemate!
Meet, "Bad Girls Aint No Good", a custom reining horse to a dappled grey mare, with new mane, tail and head.

She was customized and painted by the ever talented Shana Bobbit, I am always thrilled with the details Shana puts in her work!

And for the saddle, I wasn't even planning on making anything for myself for a while, but one evening I just sat down and it all started to flow, I must say it's my favorite mini saddle I've ever made!
I also recently customized and painted this paint mare, she was intended as a sale piece but I fell in love, whoops.

I tried a lot of new things with this set, a tiny string cinch, made an actual saddle tree, painted details on the breast collar/headstall, and a different style on the seat jockeys and seat.
Also wanted to make it easier to take on and off, so I made the breast collar adjustable, but the D rings slid out with the breast collar, so all you have to do is sticky wax them down instead of adjusting teeny buckles every time you put it on a new horse.
The bridle goes on in the same fashion, it is split behind the ears and sticky waxes down.

Better view of the breast collar, it was a challenge but I love it!

I'm pleased to say that after taking a break I'm really getting back into mini tack making, and I have a lot of new ideas!

Now, back to the work bench to make another tiny creation...

Down, but not out.

Breyerfest.

Yeah you all know what I'm talking about. The holy grail all collectors hope to touch at least once in their lifetime. -well this wasn't that year.

Not that my summer was in any way boring, I wasn't exactly missing waiting in the sweltering lines of Breyerfest as I snorkeled the reefs off the coast of Florida.

But I am not one to let things pass easily.
Especially when my two best friends were there. I simply decided to just artificially include myself in the festivities.

That's not actually my hand.

Georgia state line? Yeah I was there.

A long and tiring trip it was. (for them)

Finally there!

Saw some Museum of the Horse exhibits...

And even had a little photoshoot!

I hope I can make it next year, but until then photoshop will have to do! ;)

P.S. I took a little break from tack making recently but now I am back in action! Here is a sneak peek of one of the saddle on my workbench currently.

I've since added brown piping to the jockeys...

Thanks for reading!

On The Workbench + I am Also Alive

Emma here! Sorry for the lack of posts from me here. I don't want to repost content from my blog here to keep things fresh as well as the other way around. Keep it fresh, ya know? :)

I have a lot of projects on my workbench right now and thought it might be interesting to share.

First off, my workbench/studio is a craft armoire in my room. It is nice because it pretty much contains my mess. The whiteboard and corkboard are also useful for writing things down or posting reference pictures.

Complete with demon doggo!
I have a couple of customs I'm working on mainly. I always find myself starting models and never finishing them, so I'm gonna try and get these guys done before starting anything more.

First is this striking donkey SM resculpt. He needs new ears and his muscles done, then paint!

I have these two appaloosas almost finished as well.  The one on the left is a resculpt I did. She is now a he and he now has a long mane.

The bay has been sitting around for a long time so I'm gonna try and finish her very soon. I also have a pewter mini almost done. Lowkey procrastinating doing his details. They are so, so small.

I'm slowly going about this appaloosa flash. Probably gonna strip him, though. He just seems... off.

If you follow my facebook page or my blog, you'll have seen these feed bags and supplements! I also made a jar of treats. I made all of the labels in Photoshop myself (which I had way too much fun doing.). I made Maddy a custom one, too!

And that's it! We are all really going to try and post here more, so stay tuned :)
